Family fund

Provide grants to low income families raising disabled children and seriously ill children. Can be essential items e.g washing machine, but also consider  holidays or driving lessons.

Fledglings

A charity that sources products to help solve the practical problems that families have e.g complete socket covers ,for a family whose child continually switched  electrical lights and appliances on and off. Specialist clothing and equipment.

Pinpoint

Their website provides useful information for parents , and also a forum for parents to get in touch with each other.
They also run parent network meetings where parents have the opportunity to give their views on specific topics related to disabled children. Pinpoint then feeds that information back to the county council, and health services

Disabled Children's Early Help Team:
Any child receiving the higher rate DLA is automatically entitled to a personalised budget of £2000 a year. Families apply by contacting the call centre 0345 045 5203 and then completing a short application form.

Families on the middle rate DLA can apply for short breaks by contacting the call centre, to request a social care assessment.
