Hours: 8.30am – 3.30pm 5 days per week, term time only

Salary: £19,554 – £21,166 pro rata


We are looking to recruit an individual who will be instrumental in ensuring our facilities and pool remain open, clean and safe, as well as ensuring equipment is working. You will be able to work on your own initiative and play an integral part of the team who follow a quality management system.  National Pool Lifeguard Qualification (NPLQ) is desirable, or willing to train on entry to the position.


Your main responsibilities will include:

  • Pro-actively carrying out daily checks such as pool temperature and backwashing, ensuring standards are met

  • Take pride in poolside surroundings, by conducting cleaning duties & maintaining hygiene standards

  • Provide support to pupils using the hydro Therapy pool areas

Granta is a special school for pupils 3 – 19 years old with complex learning disabilities. All levels of lessons are taught. The successful candidate will have experience of working as a lifeguard, friendly and patient with a proven track record of being part of a successful team.

Desirable qualifications - NPLQ certificate and or current ASA level 2 swim teaching qualification, plus a Pool Plant Operator certificate. However full training will be provided for the right candidate.
