Student Council 

At Granta school, we actively support pupils in taking an important role in school development and contributing to our ongoing progress. Our student council plays a key part in shaping our school environment and strengthening our community.  Each year, pupils participate in Student Council elections, beginning with posters that are displayed around the school in the week leading up to voting. Their peers then take a class vote and results are announced to the whole school. Successful candidates are presented with their Student council lanyards which signify the start of their role as pupil representatives.

Smart School Council Members

‘’This year in order to promote and embed the importance of pupil voice even more, we have members of the Smart School Councils. This is a charity that is leading the way in redefining school councils for the better, as they believe in challenging traditional norms and promoting inclusivity in every aspect.

Using the Smart School Council our student council representatives will run the council in a smarter way: pupils lead it, class meetings bring every pupil into the conversation, and ideas become real change.

Your council lead sends one question out to every class. Pupils run the short meeting themselves; every child votes, adds ideas and contributes actively in the class meeting.
